FlashGrid Cluster now available in AWS European Sovereign Cloud

May 26, 2026

FlashGrid Cluster is available in the new AWS European Sovereign Cloud, enabling customers to deploy mission-critical databases in a fully EU-governed environment.

Amazon Web Services has launched the European Sovereign Cloud to meet strict EU data residency, governance, and jurisdiction requirements. Unlike standard AWS regions, this cloud operates independently, is fully located within the European Union, and is managed by a German entity under EU jurisdiction. This model is similar to AWS China, where infrastructure is owned and operated locally.

This distinction is essential for public-sector and regulated organizations, many of which must retain sensitive data within the EU and under EU jurisdiction. The AWS European Sovereign Cloud provides a compliant solution for adopting AWS services while meeting strict data protection and sovereignty requirements.

With FlashGrid now fully compatible, customers can deploy highly available and resilient Oracle RAC and Oracle Failover HA architectures while meeting EU legal and regulatory requirements. FlashGrid’s proven high availability and performance, combined with the sovereign cloud’s jurisdictional assurances, enable organizations to modernize and scale their database infrastructure without compromising compliance.

European organizations running Oracle database workloads have always faced a difficult choice between the agility of cloud and the data sovereignty requirements their regulators and customers demand. With FlashGrid Cluster now available in AWS European Sovereign Cloud, that tradeoff is gone. Our customers can run Oracle RAC and single-instance databases in the cloud with unmatched performance and uptime SLAs, while keeping their data firmly within EU sovereign boundaries.”
