A global retailer was facing the constraints of their on-prem infrastructure that were jeopardizing fast growth of their online business. The retailer decided to migrate the entire Oracle Commerce infrastructure to AWS and turned for help to Pivotree, a global commerce and information management services firm. A key part of the infrastructure was an Oracle RAC database cluster responsible for non-stop processing of customer orders. When the SaaS vendor decided to start new deployments on AWS instead of on-prem, they were facing the question of how to keep running the same software stack with the same uptime SLA and similar performance. In 2018 the Singapore government launched its new National Trading Platform that provides customs services to traders, logistics companies, and carriers. The new platform was implemented by Accenture and deployed on AWS. Uninterrupted operation of the new platform and of the backend database powering the platform was a critical requirement. U.S. federal agency deploys FlashGrid for running multi-AZ Oracle RAC on AWS GovCloud, meets condensed project timelines.

A government contractor approached FlashGrid Inc when they needed to move applications and their backend Oracle RAC databases to AWS GovCloud. The requirement was to run the database nodes across availability zones to take advantage of the 99.99% uptime SLA provided by EC2 for multi-AZ deployments. The project was critical for the agency and the timelines were very tight, leaving no room for error.
