FlashGrid enables extreme performance for Oracle Databases on AWS by using one or more of the following technologies:
FlashGrid
for Oracle DB on AWS
Engineered Cloud System for running Oracle databases on AWS EC2. Easy and repeatable deployment with full control, higher performance, better uptime, and 24/7 support.
Extreme performance configurations
Multiple storage nodes
100 Gb/s network enables 10 000 MB/s of throughput with five storage nodes.
This is 4x higher than the maximum EBS throughput of a single EC2 instance.
Storage management is done through ASM disk groups. Normal Redundancy disk groups provide data
mirroring and protection against storage node failures.

Local SSD
Data warehouse applications or databases that use heavy full-table scans will benefit from 16 000 MB/s of storage throughput on fast local NVMe SSDs. Mirroring data between the local SSDs and EBS volumes provides persistency of data.
i3en.metal instances have 60 TB of local SSD capacity. Additional EBS capacity can be added for larger databases.

Bare-metal instances
Bare-metal instances eliminate any impact of virtualization on performance. Instances with 224 physical cores and up to 24 TB of memory can serve extremely heavy workloads, thus eliminating the need for more complex clustering or sharding.

“We had to migrate dozens of mission critical Oracle RAC databases from Exadata to AWS with FlashGrid, and were able to do it without sacrificing performance or availability.”
