FlashGrid enables extreme performance for Oracle RAC on Azure by using one of the following technologies:

Local SSD with persistency through data mirroring

Mv2-series VM type, up to 208 cores and 11 TB of memory

Local SSD

Applications that require very high storage read performance will benefit from using local SSDs with 20 GB/s throughput per node and 2.2M IOPS per node. FlashGrid Read-Local Technology eliminates storage read overhead and makes the full throughput available to your database.

Ls_v2-series VMs have up to 15 TB of local SSD capacity. Additional Premium SSD capacity can be added for larger databases.

FlashGrid Storage Fabric provides mechanisms for ensuring persistence of the data placed on the local SSDs by maintaining a mirrored copy on persistent disks and by automatically reconstructing data in case of a loss of a VM with local SSDs.
